2021 Volunteers Are Stars Awards

Constellation Award Nominees

One of the joys of volunteering is getting to meet new people. It's exhilarating to learn that there are others in the community who believe in a cause as much as you do, and this shared sense of purpose often leads to lasting friendships.

The Constellation Award celebrates the idea that we can accomplish more by working together. It honours volunteer groups who have impacted the community in a meaningful way, and this year's nominees illustrate just how broad that impact can be.

Each nominated group has drawn on the skills and strengths of its members to address a key community issue, from crisis intervention to parenting support, from public safety to physical fitness. In doing so, they've shown that community thrives when collaboration is a core value.

The following profiles were themselves written by volunteers. Our sincere thanks to Shawn Badesha and Joyce Lai for helping to tell the story of this year's Volunteers Are Stars nominees.
